Education
At Kindikids, we embrace every moment that a child experiences as part of their educational journey. Aligning with our philosophy, our education program is built on these connections, recognising them as core to children’s early learning and development.
Fostering wellness through connection
A child’s wellbeing is a fundamental to their early learning experience. Our program fosters their sense of wellness through connections to their development, health, nutrition, safety, physical activity, rest, and mindfulness.
Celebrating connections to family and self-identity
A child’s connections to family shape their sense of self in the early years. Our program celebrates these connections, exploring and embracing each child’s uniqueness, diversity, and cultural identity within an inclusive environment.
Creating connections through play and learning
The essence of a child’s early learning experience lies in the connections made through play, learning, and relationships. Our program empowers children to be inquisitive, creative, expressive, confident; interactive, and engaged.
Nurturing connections with their environment, community and the world
A child’s connections to their environment, community & world are essential for fostering awareness, citizenship, and contribution. Our program nurtures children’s sense of responsibility, encourages sustainable practices, and empowers them to make a positive impact in their communities.
Our learning environment, routine, experiences and activities form our daily education program, which is child-centred, play-based and facilitates children’s learning and development. The program is showcased through the Kindikids App, calendar, event agendas, and through visual displays and documentation within the learning environments.
Focusing on children’s individual developmental progress achievements, primary educators engage in the planning cycle, observing children’s ideas/interests, and facilitating their continuity of learning. Families will see individualised posts via the Kindikids App showcasing their child’s engagement in the daily routine and program.
Building on children’s connections, we believe that family involvement is essential, and we strongly encourage families to get involved in our education program through, conducting experiences at the centre i.e. cooking or reading a story; participating in centre events and extracurricular activities; joining in their child’s Show and Tell, and more!
SCHOOL READINESS
An integral part of our role in supporting children’s success in their early years is our commitment to achieve their best outcomes and preparing them for their learning and life experiences beyond Kindikids. We achieve this through focus and incorporation of School Readiness into our Education Program. Embedded into the preschool routine, School Readiness is a blend of both intentionally planned daily opportunities and spontaneous moments in which they explore skill development and conceptual learning in literacy, numeracy, science and life-learning.
Guided by both the Early Years Learning Framework and the NSW Early Stage One Australian Syllabus, School Readiness ensures a holistic approach to children’s learning through enriching hands-on, play-based experiences to empower our preschoolers with the skills and abilities needed for their future and lifelong learning.
FORMAL PRESCHOOL GRADUATION
To honour the milestones and accomplishments of our children soon departing Kindikids, we host an annual Preschool Graduation at the end of each year. This special event celebrates the graduating class’s achievements and the progress they’ve made during their time at Kindikids. Along with their families, we take this opportunity to acknowledge their growth and bid them a fond farewell as they prepare to embark on their exciting journey into kindergarten.
FAMILY INVOLVEMENT
We recognise that family involvement and partnerships are vital to enriching the educational experience for both children and their families. We invite families to actively engage in our program, whether during special event weeks or through spontaneous contributions like cooking, arts and crafts, storytelling, and gardening activities. We encourage open communication with our team during daily handovers, through the Kindikids App, and during annual Family and Educator Interviews to discuss your child’s learning and development. Additionally, we host a variety of exciting annual events, including Welcome Afternoon Teas, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day celebrations, Grandparents Week, Christmas Shows, and Graduation, in which we share many memorable experiences!
EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
An exciting part of our education includes the extra-curricular activities and incursions we offer! Meaningfully planned throughout the year, we invite external providers to conduct experiences and programs with the children. Offered on different days each term and at no additional cost to families, these enriching activities are complimentary to their educational experience and enhance their learning and development.
Music and Movement
We believe that music is essential in igniting children’s expression and self-awareness. To support this, we have partnered with organisations that offer weekly sessions for our nursery and toddler children. These sessions harness the joy of movement, the creativity of music, and the excitement of active play. Each week, the children participate in fresh, interactive classes designed to foster participation, encourage self-expression, and promote social interaction.
Physical Movement
In line with our connection to wellness, we have partnered with qualified and experienced coaches to deliver weekly physical movement sessions for our preschool children. These engaging sessions focus on enhancing children’s fundamental movement skills through fun and interactive activities. Each week these programs not only promote health and well-being through active play, but also nurture confidence as children learn and develop alongside their peers.
Incursions
We provide a wide-range of opportunities for children to engage in programs led by external providers. Complementary to our education program, these incursions deepen children’s understanding and enrich their learning experience. Some of the exciting incursions we welcome include:
- African Drumbeats Show
- Hatching Chicks
- Indigenous Elder Visits
- Preschool First Aid
- Loose Parts Workshop
- Author Visits, and much more!
COMMUNITY PROGRAMS
Indigenous Cultural Program
We are proud to welcome Aboriginal Elders to host the Indigenous Cultural Program, designed to honour and recognise the rich heritage of our First Nations people, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures. The program offers enriching experiences, such as games, dreamtime stories, songs, dance, and art, allowing children to actively engage with and learn purposeful and interactive activities. The Indigenous Cultural Program enhances our understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures for both children and educators, deepening our connection to Country and reflecting our commitment to Reconciliation.
Young at Hearts Program
In collaboration with local aged-card facilities, we proudly present the Young at Hearts program, designed to foster connections between preschool-aged children and the elderly through monthly shared experiences. This intergenerational initiative not only enhances social interactions but also reduces feelings of isolation, promoting well-being for both generations. Children gain valuable insights into aging and develop empathy, while older participants enjoy joyful interactions and the chance to share their knowledge. Each month, themed activities aligning with our education program are offered to engage everyone involved. We create a nurturing environment where meaningful relationships flourish.
